THE SAGINAW BAY WALLEYE CLUB
A BRIEF HISTORY
The Saginaw Bay Walleye Club, Inc. (SBWC) was established in 1982 to assist the Michigan Department of Natural Resources with walleye rearing in Bay County. The manpower necessary for pond operation and fingerling harvest is organized from the SBWC membership.
Along with the walleye planting project, the promotion of good conservation practices and the education of our community was seen as a priority to develop the re-born Saginaw Bay walleye fishery.
Today the SBWC is a leader in conservation efforts in Michigan. They are nationally recognized as a host to several professional walleye fishing tournaments and continue to provide excellent educational activities to their members and the community.
